G.K Chesterton's "What is America"

In G.K Chesterton’s “What is America”, the inevitability of laughing at other cultures’ aesthetics is okay.  Chesterton puts emphasis on psychological values. Laughing at something different from another culture is innate behavior, but to understand why it is different is the practice of an adequate mind. To understand that the only reason something is unusual in another culture is because it is not evident in your own, is vital to precede living in country full of different races and cultures.
Psychological foundation is very important for a persons’ survival and for the survival of others. Chesterton states a great example of cynicism that seems to be introverting the way people live today: “It is far better to laugh at a Negro for having a black face than to sneer at him for having a sloping skull.” Humans are known to put a label on everything in order to understand it. Labeling a Negro with a sloping skull only creates abhorrence towards that race of people. People are different. That’s that. The sooner the human race understands that, the better. A good psychological foundation with morals and appreciation can equal to a great nation and maybe even a great world.
America is the luckiest country in the entire world. The reason why I say this is because Chesterton made me realize that almost every culture is present here in the States.  He states: “Americans have nationalities at the end of the street which for us are at the ends of the earth.” America is the land of opportunities and even getting to know other cultures are convenient. Your next door neighbor is probably Rajasthani from India and his neighbor is probably Polish from Poland. Only in America will you find such combinations of people living together. If that is appreciated, then racial crime rates and hatred will be at its all time low.  Appreciation, psychological and moral values are much needed for a utopia foundation.
